Made for Young People, By Young People
Blaze is a youth led, arts charity born in Lancashire. Our vision is a world where all young people are valued as creative citizens who can improve their lives, communities, and the world.
We hold the space for young people from all backgrounds to develop confidence, creativity and transferable skills through youth led creative projects and networks.
How we work
Blaze runs a mix of creative projects, events and opportunities designed and driven by young people.
This year alone we’ve delivered a two‑week arts festival, supported young people to lead and take part in consultancy work on areas that directly affect, them mental health support in the NHS to local town planning, we have collaborated with heritage sites to develop youth‑led projects, produced exhibitions and hosted regular open mic nights packed with new music and emerging talent.
Got an idea? Want to make something happen? Reach out - we’d love to hear it.
Our Ethos
Our ethos is rooted in youth‑led practice, equity and inclusion, and a commitment to reflective, responsive ways of working. We create environments where young people genuinely shape decisions, co‑design projects and lead meaningful cultural activity. Our work actively challenges assumptions about who gets to participate in the arts, prioritising diverse voices and removing barriers to involvement.
We listen carefully, adapt thoughtfully and encourage curiosity, critical thinking and experimentation. By supporting young people to take creative risks, collaborate with partners and develop their own leadership, we help them build the confidence, skills and influence needed to make real change in their communities.
