Blaze worked with poet Helena Ascough and six young creatives to deliver Outspoken, a four‑day spoken‑word project at the Lowther Pavilion where participants built confidence, developed performance skills and created original work. The project culminated in a youth‑led showcase, with young people shaping everything from the writing to the event production, gaining insight into creative careers along the way.

A group of young people worked with artist Sophie Gibson at The Whitaker to explore Rawtenstall’s shoe‑making heritage and the environmental impact of fast fashion. They turned their research into a new museum trail and share their insights in a short project film.

Blaze in the Wild was a youth collective of 13–25s in East Lancashire using creativity to protect their local environment. Working with Super Slow Way, Burnley Words Festival, and landscape artists Rebecca Chesney and Roy McFarlane, they explored local habitats and turned their ideas into a bold, youth‑led shop‑window exhibition celebrating, and in defence of, the landscape.

Music or Lose It was a youth music project across Burnley where 13–25s learned DJing, music production and event‑making skills from local professional artists. The programme culminated in a youth‑led music event in Burnley Library.

Next Up is a youth‑led music programme where young people experiment and create with professional musicians to produce new music. Led in partnership with Burnley College Extra Circular team to support young people for their first steps into writing and live performance.

Nature Calling is a national arts programme that empowers young people to co‑create new work with professional artists across the UK’s most outstanding natural landscapes, with Blaze leading Lancashire engagement to support meaningful youth‑led creative responses shaped by place, climate awareness and inclusive access.

Blaze marked Sam Hanna’s 120th anniversary with a punchy, youth‑led project where Burnley students created fresh films, photography and a new publication inspired by his pioneering legacy, bringing contemporary voices into dialogue with East Lancashire’s rich film heritage.

Stand Out culminated in Burnley’s first ever youth‑led Queer Pride Parade, with young producers—supported by Blaze - bringing colour, music and unapologetic joy to the town centre through a full‑day celebration of LGBTQ+ history, community and activism that went on to win the Young Arts Activism Award.

Access All Areas is Blaze’s flagship disabled‑led programme where young creatives work with professional artists to explore new artforms, build confidence and lead their own cultural events, culminating in a public exhibition and continued opportunities to co‑produce major festivals.
