Open Mic Night Programme

Blaze’s Open Mic Programme began organically in 2025, when our young producers recognised a need for a dedicated space for emerging performers in Burnley. They organised and hosted the town’s first Open Mic Night created specifically for young artists, held at Burnley Mechanics Theatre as part of the In Focus Festival.

Since then, the programme has continued to grow. Supported by Blaze’s core funds and the invaluable partnership and support of the Mechanics Theatre team, we have been able to support further Open Mic nigh events that give young performers a welcoming platform to share their work, build confidence and take their first steps into live performance.The

Blaze team is currently working to secure further funding to develop this growing programme, ensuring even more young performers can access opportunities, guidance and a supportive creative community.
