Music or Loose it

Music or Lose It was a new music project delivered in community centres across Burnley for young people aged 13-25. Participants learned from professional musicians and tried out a range of music‑making skills, including DJing and music production. The project celebrated musical diversity, encouraged self‑expression and supported young people to experiment with new creative skills whether they were into rap, hip‑hop, pop, rock or anything else.

As part of the programme, the group worked towards a youth‑led music event that took place in Burnley in October 2024. Young people interested in event planning and production learned directly from professional producer Rizwan Iqbal, who guided them through the process of designing and delivering the event.
